Dark Romance is one of fall’s top trend categories and it has exactly what you need…sleek and chic leather, edgy accessories and the daring color, oxblood. You’ll look fun, fierce and fabulous in no time!

The trick is to wear a hint of these bold trends – a little goes a long way – and pair each with simple, classically-designed, staple pieces. Opt for leather sleeves, collars, piping or trim details, even leather panels – each is more work-appropriate over head-to-toe leather outfits. Plus, this style approach is super budget-friendly. Go for an oxblood red handbag or a pair of patent leather or suede shoes. Experiment with dark red lipstick, lip gloss or nail polish. Select conventional accessories with moderate, rocker-ish accents. There are lots of options available in stores, but they’re selling out fast!

Appearing confident on the job is key, don’t you agree?! These trends – when done well – will instantly, visually communicate your confidence and competence. Look powerful…feel powerful…be powerful! See above for more tips.

Aside from a blazer, have you ever worn leather to work? If so, do you think it made a positive impact?

Walk into any store this spring season and what do you see…c-o-l-o-r!

And loads of it. Stores are jammed packed with updated designs in a delightful array of colors guaranteed to take your spring style to a whole new level. Designers went crazy for color and I love it! They continue to challenge us to step outside our comfort zone and learn to embrace fashionable updates.

A kaleidoscope of colors is available, right now, certain to enliven your wardrobe. I’ve put together the spring edition of CF’s Color Compatibility Charts for you as a reference guide, so you don’t have to think about which colors go well with each other this season. There are a total of three charts. Each one showcases one of the three most popular, but trickiest to mix, spring colors and then presents a handful of my favorite color pairings inspired from the runway.
