Fashion History And The American Woman

WWD – Paul Stahr’s version of the suffragist and the patriots – photo by Collection of the Society of Illustrators Museum of American Illustration

The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s new exhibit, “American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity” highlights the historical and international influence women’s rights movements have had on American women’s fashions, as well as on development of individual style. The “Suffragist” is one of six American archetypes featured. The showcase also leads us to reflect on the global message of our current fashions and style icons. Check out WWD and New York Times assessments.
