Create A Show Stopping Holiday Party Outfit In Under A Minute

You may love dreaming up holiday party outfits down to the last glittery detail or you may be one of the many who loathe the whole process. The reality is it makes little difference, because no matter your preference, you are always crunched for time during the hectic holiday season. That means all too often you have to throw something together at the last minute.

I’ve got a quick styling technique that will have you looking and feeling fabulous and festive in no time!

Buy new, or pull from your over-stocked closet, one amazing celebratory top or bottom and style the rest of your outfit in all black. That’s right! No need to fret over which color of shoes or handbag or even jewelry to add. Everything else should be in the color black. And I know you have tons of black in your closet!

I like to call this my One Hit Wonder styling technique.

It adheres to the color-blocking trend, so you’ll be fashionably up-to-date with your contemporaries, but more importantly, you’ll look spectacular. All the black acts like a frame to highlight the one show-stopping apparel piece, but not so much that it ends up distracting attention away from you…you still stand out looking effortlessly chic.

You don’t need to spend a million bucks on the stand-out holiday piece. There are plenty of options available at much lower prices. Most likely you probably already have something fantastic in your closet (with the tags still on it). The approach to styling the outfit is most important!

And it doesn’t matter whether your black pants are straight leg, bootcut, flared, or tapered or your black skirt is a-line, pencil, pleated, etcetera, as long as it is flattering. The same goes for your blacktop. It can be a sweater or blouse, v-neck, scoop neck, crewneck, or otherwise. However, while deciding on the outfit, ensure that you take the party venue into consideration. For instance, if it’s a garden party, maybe pastel or bright colors will look better. You can also go for flat shoes, boots, or wedges instead of wearing stilettos. Moreover, you could also get party outfit ideas by searching online for – ‘what to wear to garden party?’ so that you can mix and match whatever clothing items you have and pull off a showstopping look.

You are welcome to add one dazzling piece of jewelry to compliment the outfit, but the OHW styling technique doesn’t need to be a super success. Of course, you can still incorporate your everyday classic gold or silver jewelry pieces. If you don’t have any, check out these 10k Solid gold rings at affordable prices, or other similar options online, and stock up on some simple and classy jewelry.

OHW is holiday style made simple. And it is the perfect approach for last minute holiday luncheons, mid-week casual office parties or after work community gatherings.
