Career Wardrobe: A Pre-Fall Planning Guide

Career Wardrobe: A Pre-Fall Planning Guide | CorporateFashionista.com

Do you ever daydream about your future?

What you’ll be doing…who you’ll be doing it with…where you’ll be going to do it and how you’ll be feeling all the while you’re doing it.

Of course, I always imagine what I’ll be wearing too. It’s all part of my daydreaming process. I hold dear Napoleon Hill’s quote, “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” And that includes the way I visually express my best self.

Before the first signs of Fall, I highly recommend you take a moment to envision what you want the rest of your year to look like.

In terms of style, it’s easy to get bombarded with all the latest fashion, accessory and beauty trends, the how-to’s and do’s and don’ts, etcetera featured in the early release of the big September magazine issues. First, you want to have a clear vision of yourself ahead of time, before the fashion exploration begins. There are no ‘style rules’ in your mental picture – relax and see how you show up in your daydream.

This process allows you to be in the driver’s seat of your personal and professional image. It certainly makes the shopping and styling process much simpler and more in alignment with your authentic self and goals.

A new season is always an opportunity for a fresh start. Craft the career and the life you want, including what you want to look like living it.

Do you give much thought to the ‘big picture’ before you buy new seasonal clothing and accessories? If not, why? Please share!

Do you ever daydream about your future? Yes, most of the time. 🙂 I always look forward on what I want to wear and envision what’s my style for a certain season.
